La Tanya's Salon at 10 Ibm Road, Poughkeepsie, New York.

After repeated disasters at other local area salons, I asked a friend whose hair I like where she goes for colors & cuts. I scheduled my first appt with the owner soon thereafter. I've been back twice since then. All three appts have been with the owner, LaTanya. I am most impressed with LaTanya's ability to hear what I am asking for rather than imposing her tastes on my head. Prior to going to LaTanya's, I found that many stylists wanted to give me long bangs or layers around my face. When I explained to LaTanya that I actually prefer more layers in back than in front, she got it! She actually thought this made sense because my hair is thinner in front than it is in back. She also took the time to hear me out on color. I don't want colors that fade into blonde after two weeks. I actually prefer to color darker than my roots. She understood this too! In sum, I'll be returning to LaTanya for all future hair needs!
